The Goalie Coaches Story

One simple mission
to help goalies everywhere.

Wyatt Waselenchuk

Wyatt Waselenchuk oversees all Goalie Development as a Partner at Goalie Coaches. Since 2014, he has made his living coaching goalies throughout the United States and Canada under his personal brand, formerly known as Accel Goaltending.

Aside from running holiday and summer goalie schools, Waselenchuk also coaches at the College and Junior A (NAHL) level in Minot, North Dakota.

Wyatt, born in Yorkton Saskatchewan, moved at an early age to Port Moody, British Columbia, where he grew up playing his minor hockey in the Greater Vancouver area.

He then moved on to play in the BCHL with the Langley Chiefs and the SJHL with the Nipawin Hawks. Wyatt would then accepted an offer to attend Minot State University in the fall of 2010.

Wyatt played for Minot State from 2010-2014, which included winning the team’s first National Championship, in 2013.  He became the first and only player to date- in the team’s history, to be named ACHA Division 1 player of the year, following their title run.

Wyatt was also named a first team All-American in 2013 and a second team All-American in 2014. Holding dual citizenship, he was chosen in his final season to represent team USA at the World University Games in Trentino, Italy.

The team went on to finish with their highest placing in tournament history, while Waselenchuk started 4 of 6 games in goal.

Upon the end of Wyatt’s playing career in 2014, he immediately jumped into coaching. He spent 2 years back in Vancouver developing his brand Accel Goaltending, where he saw tremendous growth in an incredibly short period of time.  His growth had spread throughout Western Canada, and eventually back into Minot, where he then made the move back to, in the fall of 2016.

Wyatt is the full-time assistant coach with the NAHL’s Minot Minotauros, where he works closely alongside the goaltenders on a day to day basis and has helped move on several goaltenders to the NCAA and professional level.

Waselenchuk is also currently in his fifth season as an assistant coach with the Minot State Beavers, ACHA Division 1 hockey team. In Wyatt’s first 3 seasons, he has helped the team to two National semi-final appearances and in 2019- a second National Title.

Lastly, in-season- Wyatt is the goalie development coordinator with the Minot Hockey Boosters youth organization, where he oversees 20+ goalies each week, providing clinics, team practice visits and private training.

About Goalie Coaches

Hi, I’m Tyler.

I’m the guy that started Goalie Coaches.

The original mission of Goalie Coaches has never changed.

To help goalies everywhere get access to the training resources critical to their development.

Since inception, Goalie Coaches has always been about the community in it’s entirety. We’ve been a place for collaboration unlike anything ever before seen in the goaltending world, sharing drills on platforms like our Instagram, Youtube, and Facebook Groups.

Starting in the Summer of 2020, we joined forces with Wyatt Waselenchuk and his brand Accel Goaltending to deliver a series of camps across the US and Canada. We’re excited to announce that Wyatt has now joined Goalie Coaches to oversee, develop, and execute in person training programs for goalies in the same format.

It is my personal mission that Goalie Coaches dramatically changes the way that goalies develop. We’re unapologetic for trying new things, for constantly making an effort to push the envelope, to help goalies in ways that nobody ever thought possible.

We continue to impact goalies in these two major ways.

Impact #1: growing goalie businesses

We’re very specific with how we serve the goalie through the growth of goalie businesses. If you’re a goalie coach, or want to start a goalie coaching business, we’ve got a library of resources that will help you A) transition to a full time goalie coach or B) expand your goalie coaching business operations.

Impact #2: training material for goalies

Our best content is free. 99.9% of everything we do is free.

Where can I follow Goalie Coaches?
