This drill has a number of different moving parts, so it’s important to ensure that you’re working with a goalie who can handle every aspect. If you’re working with a younger goalie, it makes no sense to have them add on parts 2 and 3 before they’ve mastered the first part. One big mistake I see quite a few goalie coaches making is reinventing the wheel every time they step on the ice. This is a great game scenario drill for a higher level goalie who can master each transition. If they’re a younger goalie, they’ll get there. Make sure you take the time to coach them up!
