It’s official, Bauer will make just one line of goalie skates. They’re taking the Ultrasonic and Vapor lines and cramming them into one, to make a new skate they’ll call the Bauer PRO.
We were one of the first to get our hands on a pair of Bauer PRO Goalie Skates and have been testing them throughout the summer. Honestly, these skates are out of the park. Bauer will reign as one of the top goalie skate manufacturers, and these skates could very well take over CCM as the goalie skate of the year.
The Bauer PRO goalie skate will be followed by the Bauer Konekt goalie skate.
Reasons why you shouldn’t buy the Bauer Pro goalie skate
We’ve been using the skates for 3 months as of this most recent update. One of the biggest downsides we’ve experienced so far is that the toe of the boot has completely cracked. As a result, this will no longer be the top goalie skate for this year. In our experience with support, they would not honor the warranty with the product, which was highly disappointing.
Are the Bauer Pro Goalie Skates worth the investment?
Easy for us to say, as we test every major piece of goalie gear released, but yes. The Bauer Pro Goalie Skates are easily one of the top two goalie skates on the market. Again, the major downfall of these skates is the cracking we found in the toe, and the companies unwillingness to warranty the product. This is definitely a concern, as these skates were worn for just 3 months in our on-ice testing.

Bauer PRO Goalie Skates Overview, Worth the Money?
Despite the fact that the toe of our pair of testing skates cracked after just 3 months, these are going to be one of the most comfortable pairs of goalie skates you’ll ever wear. Bauer makes a goalie skate that is consistently in the top three in terms of popularity both at the professional and amateur levels.
Between CCM, Bauer, and TRUE, if you buy one of these skates you’re getting a skate that will stand the test of time. With Bauer, despite what some say about the quality of their pads, you’re buying a skate that will last many years. In fact, we’ve been wearing a pair of Bauer 2S pro goalie skates since they were first released several years ago.

There are two customizations you must choose when buying Bauer goalie skates
- Skate Size
- FIT Category
Skate Size
This one’s obvious. Bauer offers the PRO line in sizes 7 to 12 with 11 different options.
FIT Category
There are three different options for choosing your FIT category.
- FIT 1, narrow.
- FIT 2, average.
- FIT 3, wide.
For most goalies, FIT 2 will work just fine. In our case, I’ve got pretty wide feet, so I chose the FIT 3 wide. Coming from a stock Bauer 2S skate to the Bauer PRO, I noticed a huge difference in the FIT 3.

The Bauer PRO goalie skate will get you from Point A to Point B in the goalie skate equivalent of a brand new Bentley. These skates are the real deal. Possibly the most comfortable goalie skate on the market.
