Myofascial release is one of the main forms of muscle recovery used by elite athletes all over the world. More often than not, foam rollers are used for this practice. We’ve written about the best foam rollers in previous articles, but for the sake of individual coverage, we wanted to highlight each foam roller more in depth.

The Theragun Wave Foam Roller is one of the more advanced foam rollers on the market, and it’s priced as such. Is it worth the extra money? We bought one ourselves to find out.

TLDR: this foam roller is one of the best we’ve ever used.

Theragun Wave Foam Roller Review

Theragun burst onto the market with the Theragun G2 Pro a few years back. Since then, they’ve become one of the leading muscle recovery companies in the world. The Theragun Wave Roller is the only foam roller currently offered by Theragun, and it’s packed with features.

First off, this thing is bluetooth enabled.

Yeah, a foam roller that you can control from your phone. Pretty sweet.

Theragun has developed a product that’s built for high intensity foam rolling. This isn’t your grandmas favorite foam roller. You know those rollers you see on Amazon that have all the fancy spikes? This thing does a much better job than any of those. The Theragun Wave Roller uses what the company refers to as “asymetrical wave shaped grooves” that allow for deep tissue massage when using the product.

Ok, that part of it is pretty much just for marketing. Yes, the grooves do help, but more than anything, the material it’s constructed of combined with the vibrating feature gives it it’s name. This truly is one of the best foam rollers on the market.

Reasons you should buy

  • This thing attacks muscles (in a good way)
  • 5 different levels of vibration
  • Grooves in the roller design penetrate deep tissue while rolling

Overall, for the price point and features, this is the single best foam roller for athletes on the market today. Previously, we had awarded that label to the Hyperice Vyper 2.0, but coming in at 25% less than the cost of the Vyper, the Wave Roller is the better of these two options.
